It is created on copper plates, using the texture of the copper plate to soften after heating, and then restore its hardness after hammering. The thickness of the copper plate required for forging copper sculptures depends on the size of the work, with thick plates used for larger works and thin plates used for smaller works. Using 1.2mm thick copper plate, the ductility and softness of the copper plate are more suitable for forging.

　　The main tools are chisels, hammers, fire, and rosin glue. A regular small hammer is sufficient. Fire is a high-temperature mixture of oxygen and acetylene, used for heating and annealing copper plates. Glue is made by mixing rosin and asphalt, and is used as a lining during forging. The chisel is self-made. The chisel is cut from steel bars and made by the blacksmith himself. According to the forging needs, it is made into different shapes, mainly including round mouth, square mouth, flat mouth, elliptical mouth, pointed mouth, flat mouth, etc.
