Chinese people are familiar with Laozi, who was an ancient Chinese thinker, philosopher, literary figure, and historian, as well as the founder and main representative of the Taoist school. Laozi lived in the Spring and Autumn Period, and his influence on later generations is mainly through a work called the Tao Te Ching, which pioneered ancient Chinese philosophical thought.
