If the difference between the long and short diameters is less than the above regulations, the short diameter shall be used as the measuring diameter after entering the shed (see GB144-95 "Raw Wood Inspection, Dimensional Measurement").

Generally, there are three to five grades, and countries such as China and Russia use grade quality standards. Quality standards and inspection methods are generally divided into ten categories: knots, discoloration, decay, insect infestations, cracks, defects in tree trunk shape, wood structural defects, scars (damages), wood processing defects, deformation defects, etc.
