      The function of explosion-proof membrane in low-temperature liquid storage tank

      Each set of safety devices for low-temperature liquid storage tanks is equipped with safety valves and explosion-proof membranes, which are used to:

      The function of a safety valve is to promptly open and release gas when the pressure in the storage tank exceeds its pressure resistance level, in order to reduce pressure and protect the storage tank.

      The purpose of the explosion-proof membrane is to prevent the pressure from continuing to rise when the safety valve cannot be activated in time, which forces the explosion-proof membrane to rupture and release the pressure, ultimately achieving the purpose of protecting the storage tank.

      The function of the explosion-proof device on the outer cylinder of the storage tank

      The explosion-proof device of the outer cylinder of the storage tank is a negative pressure protection device. When the interlayer is under negative pressure, it relies on the external atmospheric pressure to compress and seal it. When the interlayer loses its vacuum, its sealing function is also lost.

      If the low-temperature liquid inside the inner tank leaks into the middle interlayer of the storage tank, causing an increase in pressure inside the interlayer, installing an explosion-proof device on the outer cylinder can prevent the shell from bursting due to the increase in interlayer pressure.

      An overpressure prevention device is required when filling the storage tank

      At present, the main filling methods for liquid tank trucks in the liquid market are self pressurized filling and pump filling

      Self pressurized filling: relying on the built-in vaporizer of the tanker to increase the pressure inside the tanker, so that the pressure inside the tanker is greater than the pressure in the storage tank. This allows the product to flow into the filling storage tank through the pressure difference.

      Pump filling: The liquid in the tanker is pressurized and discharged into the filling storage tank through the onboard pump or ground pump.

      The above two filling methods may cause overpressure in different storage tanks, which can lead to cracking and explosion in severe cases. Therefore, before filling the storage tank, it is necessary to calculate whether the tank is overpressure during filling. If so, anti overpressure devices should be installed.

      The functions of bottom filling and top filling

      Liquid is filled from the bottom, and the filling pressure causes the liquid in the storage tank to boil rapidly, resulting in a rapid increase in pressure inside the storage tank; Filling liquid from the top, the supercooled liquid in the tank truck, when entering the gas phase space of the storage tank, partially liquefies the gas in the gas phase space of the storage tank, causing the pressure of the storage tank to rise slowly or even decrease. The phenomenon of pressure reduction caused by filling from the top of the storage tank is very obvious when the storage tank volume is large and the liquid inside the tank is small.

      The function of the overflow valve

      The amount of low-temperature liquid filled in the low-temperature liquid storage tank shall not exceed 95%, otherwise the gas phase space at the top of the storage tank is too small, which may cause overpressure in the storage tank. When filling the liquid, open the fill valve and if liquid is found to be flowing out (also known as an overflow valve), stop filling the liquid immediately.

      The function of the storage tank booster valve

      According to the working pressure requirements of the system, when adjusting the pressure of the boosting system of the storage tank, the regulating valve is set at a certain pressure. When the storage tank pressure is lower than the set pressure, the valve automatically opens and the storage tank starts to boost. When the storage tank pressure increases above the set pressure, the valve automatically closes and the tank boosting stops.
