      Characteristics and differences of waste heat boilers

      Overall, the "waste heat boiler" only has a "pot" and no "furnace".

      Waste heat boilers usually do not have burners. If high-pressure and high-temperature steam is needed, an additional burner can be installed inside the waste heat boiler. By burning fuel, the entire flue gas temperature is raised, which can generate high parameter steam.

      For example, when a certain waste heat boiler is not equipped with a burner, the inlet flue gas temperature is 500 ℃. After installing an additional burner, the inlet flue gas temperature can reach 756 ℃. The pressure of steam can be increased from 4MPa to 10MPa, and the temperature of steam can be increased from 450 ℃ to 510 ℃. Steam can be used for high-temperature and high-pressure steam turbines, thereby increasing electrical power output.

      The waste heat boiler mainly uses exhaust gas as a heat source, so there is no need for a combustion system (unless there is a requirement for supplementary combustion).

      The difference between waste heat boiler and conventional boiler

      Waste heat boilers utilize existing waste gas waste heat or solid sensible heat.

      The waste heat boiler can generate steam under multiple pressures, which improves the heat recovery efficiency.

      Composition and working process of waste heat boiler

      The gas discharged after doing work in the gas turbine still has a relatively high temperature, usually around 540 ℃. By utilizing the thermal energy of this gas, the thermal efficiency of the entire device can be improved.

      Usually, this heat is used to heat water and turn it into steam. Steam can be used to power a steam turbine or generator, as well as for heating production processes or providing heating for daily life.

      The equipment that uses the heat from the exhaust of a gas turbine to produce steam is called a "heat recovery steam generator", indicating the recovery of heat from the exhaust.

      In China, it is commonly referred to as a "waste heat boiler" and the exhaust of gas turbines is abbreviated as "flue gas".

      The high-temperature flue gas from the gas turbine has two outlets, one enters the waste heat boiler and is discharged into the atmosphere through the main chimney, and the other enters the bypass chimney and is discharged into the atmosphere. Each flue is equipped with three baffles. The baffle on the main flue is called the "main baffle", the baffle on the bypass flue is called the "bypass baffle", and the baffle at the main chimney is called the "chimney baffle". Each baffle is used in combination.
