Description :
The low-temperature storage tank is a double-layer structure, with the inner tank storing low-temperature liquids and withstanding the pressure and low temperature of the medium. The material of the inner tank is low-temperature resistant alloy steel (0Crl8Ni9); The outer shell serves as a protective layer for the inner container, maintaining a certain distance from the inner container to form an insulated space that can withstand the gravity load of the inner container and the medium, as well as the vacuum negative pressure of the insulation layer. The shell does not come into contact with low temperatures and is made of container steel. The insulation layer is mostly filled with pearl sand and subjected to high vacuum. The evaporation rate of low-temperature storage tanks is generally less than 0.2%.
Mainly includes: outer tank, inner tank, inner tank support, insulation layer, upper and lower inlet pipes, upper and lower liquid level pipes, gas phase pipes, overflow pipes, outlet pipes, as well as safety accessories and instruments.

Rolling accidents inside storage containers
During the storage and transportation of liquefied natural gas (LNG), the density difference of LNG is caused by different components and temperatures, resulting in automatic stratification between newly filled LNG and existing LNG. If LNG with lower density is located in the upper layer and LNG with higher density is located in the lower layer, independent convective motion will form between the upper and lower layers. Under the influence of heat leakage at the bottom, the bottom absorbs heat and transfers it to the upper part through the liquid-liquid interface with the upper layer. The temperature of the upper liquid rises slowly, while the temperature of the lower liquid rises rapidly, resulting in a decrease in the density difference between the upper and lower layers. The lower liquid is in a supersaturated state due to the gravity suppression effect of the upper liquid, and the heat leakage at the bottom of the tank cannot cause the LNG in the lower layer to evaporate.

Under certain conditions, the strong convective circulation in the lower layer promotes the breaking of the layered interface, resulting in mixing between the upper and lower layers and a tendency towards equal density. The lower LNG, which was originally in a supersaturated state, will evaporate in large quantities in a timely manner, causing rolling in the storage tank and triggering overpressure accidents.
