The boiler that generates steam by using the waste heat from gas turbine exhaust is called a waste heat boiler.


From the appearance, the boiler mainly consists of an inlet flue, furnace body, steam drum, and chimney. There are dense pipelines inside the furnace, and the water pump feeds the water to be heated into these pipelines. The high-temperature gas discharged from the gas turbine heats the water in the pipelines into high-pressure steam. Structure of waste heat boiler
The waste heat boiler adopts a modular structure for easy transportation and installation. The module is composed of tube clusters, which are serpentine tube components made up of dozens of tubes. There are upper and lower headers at both ends of the module, which are the heating components of the boiler. Water is heated by high-temperature gas from the outside inside of the module.
In order to better transfer heat, fins (also known as fins) are welded on the surface of the pipeline to increase the heat transfer area of the pipeline. The following figure shows a small section of the pipeline welded with fins.
Opening the side wall of the boiler, it can be seen that there are multiple modules inside. The actual boiler has nearly 20 modules, most of which are evaporator, economizer, and superheater modules, in addition to the reheater module.
