In order to meet customer needs, Dier Chemical Packing Co., Ltd. in Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province, has processed stainless steel baffle defoggers that are particularly suitable for tower towers and gas phase outlets at the top or side of the tower, to remove misty droplets, foam, and trace solid particles carried in the gas phase. Especially when there are trace solid particles and crystals in the gas phase, the new high-efficiency baffle defogger has strong anti clogging performance and cannot be replaced by wire mesh defoggers. A well-designed and high-performance baffle defogger should have the following characteristics:
1. Gas enters horizontally, with baffles arranged vertically;
2. The demister has a good liquid phone and drainage structure inside;
3. The amount of liquid re entrainment is reduced, which improves the foam (mist) removal effect and enhances the processing capacity;
4. For droplets with heavy rain of 5 or more, the removal efficiency is generally greater than 95%;
5. High operational flexibility, usually up to 60-120%, sometimes even as high as 40-140%;
The high-efficiency baffle fog catcher has the advantages of high foam (fog) removal efficiency, large operational flexibility, and strong adaptability. It has been successfully applied in multiple large-scale devices in China and has achieved good economic and social benefits.

The demister is an important component of the desulfurization tower. The function of the mist eliminator is to capture the fog particles and slurry droplets carried by the smoke during the spray absorption process. The efficiency of the mist eliminator is related not only to its body structure but also to the gravity and particle size of the mist particles. The atomized particle size of the nozzle is related to the viscosity of the absorbing liquid, the force of the spray pawl and the nozzle structure. If the defogging is not good, the slurry carried by the flue gas will be carried to downstream equipment such as the flue gas heater, induced draft fan (commonly used in industrial boiler desulfurization), and flue gas, causing blockage, severe vibration of the induced draft fan, severe corrosion of the flue gas, and scaling. Only by matching the performance of the defogger with the diameter of the mist particles can good defogging be achieved.
