　　Design principles of PET exhaust extruder

　　1. Currently, various exhaust extruders are vacuum evacuated after polymer melting. Multiple exhaust ports can be set as needed to reduce the water content and small molecule components to the desired level. This design is suitable for processing materials that are not sensitive to water, such as PS, ABS, etc., but it is not ideal for PET. Because water has a severe degradation effect on PET melt, it is required that PET exhaust extruders have solid exhaust capability, that is, to extract as much water vapor as possible from the barrel before PET melts. This is clearly different from the design concept of conventional exhaust extruders.

　　2. The exhaust of PET melt must be completed in the shortest possible time, taking into account the intense hydrolysis of PET melt within 5 minutes. It is required that the exhaust operation should not exceed 1 minute. The longer the exhaust time of conventional materials, the better the exhaust effect, but this is not applicable to PET.

　　3. While considering production, the solid section of the PET exhaust extruder should be as long as possible and the screw groove should be as shallow as possible, which is beneficial for the uniform heating of PET slices and allows more water to evaporate from the slices.

　　4. Under the premise of no material emission, the spiral groove of the melt exhaust section should be as shallow as possible to reduce the diffusion path of bubbles in the melt; At the same time, the viscosity of PET melt is relatively low, and the diffusion of bubbles located in it is relatively easy, providing the possibility for rapid volatilization in a short period of time.

　　5. The melting section and melt conveying section of the screw are designed with flexible threads to provide gentle shear for PET melting and conveying, achieving low-temperature extrusion and avoiding thermal degradation of PET.
