Overview of Self contained Tide Gauge
The pressure type water level gauge uses a pressure sensor to directly or indirectly sense the static water pressure of the water body, achieving a water level measurement instrument. It generally includes pressure sensors and related pressure extraction, signal transmission, data processing (including display, storage, encoding, and recording).
We are constantly improving our products, and now we are proud to introduce our HR 8800 independent water level and temperature recorder/tide gauge. Its improved accuracy and increased internal self storage function are better than previous products, with better long-term stability and stronger functionality.

1.1 Product Overview
HR8800S Self contained Water Level Temperature Recorder/Tide Gauge is a self-contained battery level monitoring device that can record water depth (pressure) and temperature for a long time. It is made of all stainless steel or titanium alloy structure. The water level recorder includes water level and temperature sensors, built-in large capacity flash memory, and high-capacity long-life lithium batteries. working principle
An instrument that directly or indirectly senses the static water pressure of a body of water using a pressure sensor to measure water level. Including pressure sensors and related voltage carriers, signal transmission, data processing (including storage, encoding, and recording). The central processing unit collects real-time data from pressure sensors and temperature sensors based on the principle of static pressure and liquid level measurement, and applies complex algorithms to linear correction and temperature compensation of pressure sensor data. The system uses highly stable and high-precision sensors to fundamentally ensure the stability and accuracy of the product. The product adopts RS 485 digital output interface, and the data protocol is standard Modbus RTU protocol, supporting networking.
2 Installation and use

2.1 On site installation
Before installation and use, please carefully read the accompanying "Instructions for Use of HR 8800 Independent Water Level Recorder", which must comply with the requirements for manual installation and debugging.
Usage Notes
1) The bottom of the product should be as far away from the bottom of the water as possible and installed vertically to avoid blockage of the product probe inlet by sludge and debris at the bottom, ensuring measurement accuracy;
2) It is strictly prohibited to remove the water guide plug and touch the pressure diaphragm of the product with a hard object;
3) The product should be slowly placed in logging or other application areas, and it is strictly prohibited to throw it away at will to avoid damage to the pressure sensor caused by water hammer;
4) It is recommended that the range of the tested water body should be between 70% and 90% of the full product range to ensure sufficient resolution, accuracy, and necessary safety overload capacity.
5) The waterproof cable shielding layer of the product must be connected to reliable metals such as metal junction boxes and metal protective covers, and reliably connected to nearby land to ensure lightning protection capability;
6) The double steel wires of the air guiding cable must be fixed on the on-site fastening device (especially on a large scale) to ensure the stability of the product and the accuracy and reliability of the measurement results;
(7) During use, the following suggestions should be strictly followed for wiring to avoid short circuits and misconnections;
8) There is a waterproof molecular plug at the end air pipe of the waterproof air guide cable user connection, which should be properly protected and not lost, especially to avoid detachment and damage during transportation and installation. If damaged, it should be replaced in a timely manner. To prevent moisture and water from entering the probe through the cable and causing damage;

The output interface of HR8800S self-contained tide gauge is RS485 digital output. This product is connected to the card reader through a four core waterproof connector, as shown in the following figure:

2.2 Product Debugging
Product Inspection
Before formal debugging, the "HR8800S water level gauge testing software" should be used for testing. During the testing period, only one product is allowed to be connected. The specific testing method is as follows:
1) Wiring according to the above wiring and electrical connection methods;
2) To run the HR8800S water level gauge testing software, first set the serial port parameters, with a default value of 9600 bps, no calibration bit, and one stop bit (the water level gauge testing software manual provides detailed instructions on how to use the testing software);
3) Open the "Tools" interface of the software, click "Search Address" ->"Start Test" in sequence, and pay attention to the prompt information in the "Prompt Message" box, as shown in Figure 2.
4) If the water level, temperature, and water pressure can be displayed normally, it indicates that the product function is normal and installation and debugging can continue.

Product debugging
After the product testing is completed and confirmed to be functioning properly, the product can be debugged and set up. As the data transmission protocol used in this product is the standard MODBUS-RTU protocol, users can use the HR8800S independent water level and water temperature recorder testing software MODBUS debugging assistant or their own upper computer software to complete the relevant debugging and setting work of this product.
According to the product protocol, users can read and write product registers, and complete access to function registers, data registers, and status registers. The main operations are as follows:
1) Basic parameter settings, such as serial port settings, timed sampling time settings, etc.
2) Calibration parameter settings: zero point setting, density setting, proportional coefficient setting, etc.
3) Test data reading: reading of test parameters such as water level, water pressure, and water temperature
4) Status register reading: Read the status register to understand the operating status of the product

3 Fault analysis and troubleshooting
Troubleshooting methods for fault phenomena
The electrical interface connection of the equipment without communication inspection is correct
Check if the baud rate setting is correct
Check if the device address is set correctly.

Place the data deviation in the liquid for a short period of time (recommended>10 minutes) to affect the measurement accuracy.

4 Maintenance and upkeep
1. The range of the water level gauge is optional.
2. After debugging, it can be slowly used in water without the need for maintenance during use.
5 Transportation and Storage
1. Avoid serious collisions during the transportation of this product and take waterproof and moisture-proof measures;
2. The storage location of the product should avoid corrosive gas corrosion.
3. The product should be stored at a temperature of 0-50 ° C and 50 ° C; Lt; Garbage& GT;-95& Lt; Garbage& GT; under humidity conditions;
4. Severe vibration and impact are strictly prohibited.
