This article mainly studies the mid and rear axle suspension system of semi-trailer, and conducts relevant design and analysis. The working state of fuel trucks is divided into two types: full load and empty load. When the vehicle is running without load, the lifting bridge floats off the ground to reduce rolling friction resistance, coordinate steering motion, achieve fuel saving, reduce tire wear, extend service life, and save operating costs; When the vehicle is fully loaded, lifting the bridge can effectively increase the vehicle's load-bearing capacity, reasonably meet the axle load requirements stipulated by regulations, and ensure the safe use of vehicles, roads, and bridges. The air suspension system with a lifting bridge improves the overall performance and quality of use of the vehicle. While increasing the load-bearing capacity of specialized vehicles, it also distributes axle loads more reasonably, ensuring transportation safety, reducing fuel consumption, and saving energy. It can bring better economic benefits to users while meeting traffic regulations. This study used UG software to establish a simplified 3D model of the entire vehicle, including the cab, frame and front axle, lifting axle and drive axle, and conducted spatial verification; Then, using ADAMS software, models of the air suspension system, steering system, powertrain, tires, and road surface of the vehicle were established, and a complete vehicle model was built based on these models. This article conducts simulation analysis and evaluation of the overall driving smoothness of two types of suspensions, steel plate spring and air suspension. The results show that the overall driving smoothness of air suspension is better than that of steel plate spring suspension, proving that matching air suspension on semi-trailer is feasible and meaningful.
