      ADSS optical cable is designed as a loose tube layer twisted structure, with structural characteristics:

      The central reinforcing element is non-metallic glass reinforced fiber (FRP)

      As a tensile strength component, aramid yarn is designed according to the strength requirements of ADSS. By adjusting the torque balance of aramid winding, ADSS has extremely high tensile strength and stress-strain characteristics

      The inner sheath is made of black polyethylene (MDPE), and the outer sheath is made of high-density, scratch resistant polyethylene, corresponding to working environments with spatial potential>12kV.

      1. Central tubular structure:

      The optical fiber is placed in a PBT (or other suitable material) tube filled with water-resistant grease with a certain excess length, wrapped with suitable spun nylon yarn according to the required tensile strength, and then extruded into a PE (≤ 12KV electric field strength) or AT (≤ 20KV electric field strength) sheath.

      The central pipe structure is easy to obtain small diameters and has low ice and wind loads; The weight is relatively light, but there is a limit to the remaining length of the optical fiber.

      2. Layered twisted structure:

      The fiber optic loose tube is wound at a certain pitch on the central reinforcement (usually FRP) and then extruded with an inner sheath (which can be omitted under low tension and small span), and then wrapped with suitable spun nylon yarn according to the required tensile strength, and then extruded with PE or AT sheath. The cable core can be filled with grease, but when ADSS operates at a large span with a large sag, due to the low resistance of the grease, the cable core is prone to "sliding" and the pitch of the loose casing is prone to change. The use of appropriate methods to fix the loose sleeve onto the central reinforcement and dry cable core can be overcome, but there are certain technical difficulties.
