      2、 Principle of Liquid Resistance Reduction and Corrosion Prevention

      The direct methods to reduce grounding resistance are to extend the grounding conductor, expand the grounding network area, or drill deep wells. However, these methods are sometimes affected by the site and the increase in steel consumption may not achieve the expected effect, making them very uneconomical. The principle of liquid resistance reducer is to increase its surface area and reduce the contact resistance with the grounding electrode, thereby reducing the total resistance of the grounding body. The composition of liquid drag reducers can be divided into electronic conductivity type and ion conductivity type. The electronic conductivity type is less affected by climate factors, has good long-term performance, and does not produce corrosion.

      The pH value of liquid resistance reducing agents is weakly alkaline in the range of 9-12, because alkaline substances can form a passive film on the surface of steel grounding electrodes to protect them from soil corrosion. Due to the unevenness of soil composition, buried electrodes may experience battery corrosion. Liquid resistance reducing agents tightly wrap around the electrode to prevent the infiltration of other impurities, so that ion exchange that causes corrosion does not occur in the electrode, but at the interface between the liquid resistance reducing agent and the soil, thereby achieving the purpose of protecting the grounding electrode and reducing corrosion.
