      1. Characteristics of the foam generator for liquid spraying foam extinguishing system

      The foam generator of the liquid spraying foam extinguishing system is installed on the upper part of the oil tank wall, and the sprayed foam covers the whole burning liquid surface for extinguishing.

      Scope of application: The liquid spraying foam extinguishing system is applicable to three types of storage tanks with fixed roof, external floating roof and internal floating roof.

      Advantages: Compared with the underwater spraying foam fire extinguishing system, the above liquid type has lower cost, and foam is not easy to be polluted by oil products.

      Disadvantages: When the oil tank explodes, the foam mixture pipeline and the foam generator are easy to be damaged, causing the fire out of control.

      The foam in the underwater spraying foam extinguishing system is sprayed from the bottom of the oil tank through the foam injection port, and then rises through the oil layer to the burning liquid level and spreads to cover the entire liquid level to extinguish the fire.

      2. Characteristics of the foam generator of the submerged spraying foam extinguishing system

      Scope of application: The submerged spraying foam fire extinguishing system is applicable to fixed dome roof storage tanks, not to external floating roof and internal floating roof storage tanks. The reason is that the floating roof blocks the normal distribution of foam. When only the ring seal of the external floating roof or internal floating roof tank is fortified, it is impossible to transport all foam there.

      The foaming machine itself cannot produce foam out of thin air. It introduces air into the aqueous solution of foaming agent to disperse evenly, so as to achieve the largest contact surface between liquid and gas as possible, so that the surfactant in the foaming agent forms a double electric layer on the surface of the liquid film and surrounds the air to form bubbles.

      The main body of foam concrete is foam, so the foaming machine for making foam has become the key equipment and host of foam concrete production. Without it, there would be no foam concrete.

      Foam generator, also known as air foam generator, foam generator and foam generator, is a fire extinguishing equipment fixed on the oil tank to generate and spray air foam. When the foam mixed liquid flow supplied by the fixed fire pump of the foam fire truck passes through the generator through the transmission pipeline, it forms air foam to extinguish the oil fire.       Advantages: Generally, the bottom of oil tank is not easy to be damaged when it explodes, which improves the safety of the underwater foam system and the effective storage capacity of oil tank. When putting out a fire, foam reaches the burning liquid level through the liquid and does not pass through the high temperature flame, which reduces the loss of foam and improves the fire extinguishing effect. When the foam rises from the lower part of the oil tank to the burning liquid level, the cold oil below the tank and the hot oil above will have convection, playing a cooling role, which is conducive to extinguishing the fire. Moreover, special foam pipelines can be omitted to save investment.

      Disadvantages: When the foam is injected into the water-soluble liquid by means of underwater spraying, the foam will be damaged due to the polarity and dehydration of the water-soluble liquid molecules, and cannot rise to the liquid surface to extinguish the fire. Therefore, the underwater spraying foam extinguishing system is not suitable for extinguishing water soluble A, B and C liquid fixed roof tanks.
