　　Overhead insulated conductors are a new type of line material that can effectively protect overhead bare conductors. They are increasingly being used in distribution network lines, improving the reliability of distribution line operation. From the perspective of characteristics, overhead insulated wires are mainly reflected in the following aspects: good insulation performance. Compared with ordinary bare wires, overhead insulated wires have an additional insulation layer, which can improve the insulation performance of the wire and shorten the distance between the lines, reducing the insulation requirements faced by the line support components and promoting the installation of lines on the same pole to increase the number of circuits; Secondly, it has good anti-corrosion performance. Under the action of the insulation layer, during the operation of overhead insulated wires, the degree of oxidation corrosion can be reduced, the probability of corrosion events can be lowered, faults can be reduced, and the service life of the line can be extended; Thirdly, to prevent external damage, various external factors such as trees and dust can affect the wires during the actual operation of the wiring circuit, increasing the risk of related faults. 　　2.1 Scientific selection of overhead insulated conductor models

　　In recent years, the increasing use of overhead insulated conductors in distribution networks has led to a gradual increase in the number of conductor models. Typically, the 10kV series mainly uses six conductor models, as shown in Table 1. During the installation of 10kV series overhead insulated conductors, except for the JKLYJ/Q model, all other models need to maintain an appropriate distance from trees. However, during operation, JKLYJ/Q needs to maintain an appropriate distance from trees, while other models do not need to and are allowed to come into contact with trees. During practical application, it is known from relevant design regulations that a vertical distance of at least 3m should be maintained between overhead insulated conductors and trees. If areas such as parks and green belts are crossed by distribution lines under wind conditions, a clear distance of at least 1m should be maintained between conductors and trees. In addition, when overhead insulated conductors are applied to lines below 10kV, regional operating experience can be used as a basis to determine the distance between the conductor and the ground, as well as small distances beyond important crossing distances. From the existing regulations, there are certain differences, but they mainly follow the international version regulations. In the actual selection process, attention must be paid to model selection to avoid safety issues. For example, when insulated wires need to pass through trees, weather resistant JKLGYJ wires can be used to avoid instantaneous grounding faults in rainy weather and ensure the safety and reliability of distribution line operation.
