      Introduction and Characteristics of Steel cored Aluminum Stranded Wire

       At present, aluminum clad steel stranded wire (LGJ) is widely used as the conductor in China. The steel core mainly serves to increase strength, while the aluminum stranded wire mainly serves to transmit electrical energy. The cross-sectional area of the wire varies depending on the voltage. For example, currently the conductors of domestic 500 kV transmission lines are generally LGJ-400/35 conductors. L is the abbreviation for aluminum wire, G is the abbreviation for steel core, 400 is aluminum 400 square millimeters, and 35 is steel 35 square millimeters.

      Steel cored aluminum stranded wire refers to a reinforced conductor in which a single or multiple layers of aluminum strands are stranded outside a galvanized steel core wire. Mainly used in the power and transmission line industries.

       In this modern era of advanced science and technology, many modern industrial facilities have appeared in our world and exist in our daily lives. Steel cored aluminum wire is also an important force in the field of electricity.

       Its interior is made of steel core, and the exterior is wrapped around the steel core by twisting aluminum wire. The steel core mainly serves to increase strength, while the aluminum wire mainly serves to transmit electrical energy.

      Characteristics and advantages of steel core aluminum stranded wire. Steel core aluminum stranded wire is a reinforced conductor consisting of single or multiple layers of aluminum strands twisted outside of galvanized steel core wire. Mainly used in the power and transmission line industries. Steel cored aluminum stranded wire is made by twisting aluminum wire and steel wire, and is suitable for overhead transmission lines. For high-voltage transmission lines, due to the limited path of the line and the impossibility of installing multiple lines on one path, people have come up with the method of using one path, one set of iron towers, and hanging multiple wires, that is, one line is equivalent to installing multiple lines; For 500KV transmission lines, China mostly adopts the method of hanging four wires, which is called the same tower parallel installation. The models of steel cored aluminum stranded wire are divided into JL/G1A JL/G1B JL/G2A JL/G2B JL/G3A, where G1A or G1B refers to ordinary strength steel wire. G2A or G2B refers to high-strength steel wire. G3A refers to ultra-high strength steel wire. Advantages of steel core aluminum stranded wire: Steel core aluminum stranded wire has the characteristics of simple structure, easy installation and maintenance, low line cost, large transmission capacity, and is conducive to laying in special geographical conditions such as crossing rivers and valleys. It has good conductivity and sufficient mechanical strength, high tensile strength, and the tower distance can be enlarged. Therefore, it is widely used in overhead transmission and distribution lines of various voltage levels. It has a steel "core" inside and is wrapped around the steel core with aluminum wire twisted together on the outside; Steel core mainly serves to increase strength, while aluminum stranded wire mainly serves to transmit electrical energy. Packaging and labeling of steel cored aluminum stranded wire:

      During normal loading, unloading, transportation, and storage, wires should be properly packaged to prevent damage.

      The wires should be delivered in reels, with the distance between the outermost layer and the edge of the cable reel side panel not less than 30 mm, and properly packaged. The two wires connected together should have at least half of the single wire cut at a distance of not less than 15 cm from the connection point, and the fracture should be tightly tied.

      The delivery tray shall comply with the provisions of JB/T8137-2013 (all parts), and may also be agreed upon by the supply and demand parties through mutual agreement. Short section wires are allowed to be delivered in loops, and each loop should be tied at least three times and properly packaged.

      Each coil or circle of wire should be labeled with:

      Each coil or turn of wire should be labeled with the following information:

      a) Manufacturer name, manufacturer serial number (if any); b) Wire model, nominal cross-section, and number of single wires;

      GB/T 1179—2017

      c) Shipping, rotation direction, or line marking; d) The marking that the spool cannot be placed flat during transportation; e) The length of each wire from outside to inside, m; gross and net weight, f, kg;
