      The principle and function of reverse osmosis: Place dilute solutions (such as fresh water) and concentrated solutions (such as seawater or saltwater) of the same volume on both sides of a container, with a semi permeable membrane in the middle to block them. The solvent in the dilute solution will naturally pass through the semi permeable membrane and flow towards the concentrated solution side. The liquid level on the concentrated solution side will be higher than that of the dilute solution by a certain height, forming a pressure difference to achieve osmotic equilibrium. This pressure difference is the osmotic pressure. The magnitude of osmotic pressure depends on the type of concentrated solution, and the concentration and temperature are independent of the properties of the semi permeable membrane. If a pressure greater than the osmotic pressure is applied on the concentrated solution side, the solvent in the concentrated solution will flow towards the dilute solution, and the flow direction of this solvent is opposite to the original direction of permeation. This process is called reverse osmosis.

      Reverse Osmosis (RO) is a high-tech membrane separation technology driven by pressure difference, characterized by high separation efficiency, no phase change, and simplicity. The pore size of the reverse osmosis membrane has been reduced to nanometers (1nm=10-9m), and no "filtering" pores on the surface can be seen under scanning electron microscopy. At operating pressures higher than the osmotic pressure of the raw water, water molecules can reverse osmosis through the RO semi permeable membrane to produce pure water, while a large amount of inorganic ions, organic matter, colloids, microorganisms, pyrogen, etc. in the raw water are intercepted by the RO membrane.

      There are two ways to clean reverse osmosis equipment: online cleaning and offline cleaning.

      1、 Online cleaning

      Online cleaning refers to the overall cleaning of the reverse osmosis device, without taking out the pressure vessel for the membrane components, and is usually designed and used in larger systems. This cleaning method is simple and convenient to operate, with a short time, but it is prone to incomplete cleaning and unsatisfactory results. This method can be used when the pollution of the reverse osmosis device is relatively light.

      2、 Offline cleaning

      Offline cleaning refers to the process of removing membrane components from a reverse osmosis pressure vessel and placing them into a cleaning equipment for cleaning. Typically, the number of components cleaned at a time should not exceed 6. This cleaning method is simple and convenient to operate, thoroughly cleaned, and has good results. But when there are many membrane components, the cleaning time is longer. This method can be used when the reverse osmosis pollution is severe or the online cleaning effect is poor.
