It converts atmospheric pressure into the elastic displacement of the empty box, and drives the pointer through a lever and transmission mechanism. When the pointer is turned clockwise, it indicates the amount of change in air pressure increase. Conversely, when the pointer is turned counterclockwise, it indicates the amount of change in air pressure decrease. When the elastic stress of the empty box is balanced with atmospheric pressure, the pointer stops rotating, and the pressure value indicated by the pointer is the atmospheric pressure value at that time.
