Description :
The support methods for traffic signs are divided into column type (single column type and double column type), cantilever type (L-shaped, T-shaped, F-type), gantry type, and attachment type, as shown in Figure 2.24. When using the suspended wall support method, the L-shaped pole type is generally selected. The selection of support forms should adhere to the principles of uniformity, aesthetics, and visibility. On the same road, if the road structure has not changed, the setting method of similar signs should be kept as consistent as possible, and the support methods used should generally not exceed three types.
Classification of sign posts:
Traffic sign poles generally include single column traffic sign poles and multi column traffic sign poles. The inner edge of the column sign should not intrude into the road construction limit, generally not less than 25cm away from the outer edge or dirt shoulder of the roadway or sidewalk. The height of the lower edge of the traffic sign board from the road surface is divided into highway not less than 5500mm, and national and provincial highways not less than 5000mm. When it is set on urban roads with a large proportion of small vehicles, the height of the lower edge from the ground can be adjusted according to the actual situation, but should not be less than 120cm. When it is set on the roadside with pedestrians or non motorized vehicles, the height should be greater than 180cm.
Single column traffic sign pole:
A single column traffic sign pole is a sign board installed on a single column, suitable for warning, prohibition, indication signs and small directional signs of medium and small sizes.
Multi column traffic sign post:
Multi column traffic sign pole is a sign board installed on two or more columns, which is suitable for rectangular directional signs.
Arm type traffic sign post:
Cantilever traffic sign post - F-type traffic sign post, T-shaped traffic sign post
A cantilevered traffic sign pole is a sign board installed on a cantilever, and the height of the lower edge of the sign above the ground should be greater than the clearance height specified for the road.
