      Application of Aspartate Polyurea Waterproof Material in Hydropower Station Dams

      With the rapid development of China's water conservancy and power industry, high head and large flow energy dissipation projects are also increasing. High dam discharge building facilities have to withstand high-intensity sediment wear and cavitation damage, and the concrete technology for anti abrasion and anti cavitation has not shown satisfactory results. Therefore, there is an urgent need for a protective material with better anti abrasion and anti cavitation performance on the surface of high dam discharge building facilities.

      Aspartate polyurea waterproof coating has excellent physical properties, such as tensile strength, aging resistance, flexibility, wear resistance, and medium resistance. As a concrete anti-seepage protective layer, it has good impermeability and air tightness, which can reduce the contact between concrete and water, air, etc., improve the anti-seepage effect, and delay the aging of concrete. It is a reinforcement material suitable for anti-seepage, anti abrasion and anti erosion protection on the surface of new and old high dam concrete.

      The application advantages of aspartic polyurea waterproof material in hydropower dam

      Rainwater will seep into the deep layers of concrete through micro cracks on the dam surface, which contain a large amount of metal materials such as steel bars. If there are cracks in the dam and rainwater seeps in, it will corrode the steel bars of the dam body, seriously affecting the safety and service life of the dam. This puts strict requirements on the crack resistance of the dam coating.

      Traditional epoxy coatings or asphalt coatings can indeed provide waterproofing and decorative effects on concrete surfaces, but they cannot solve the problem of cracking on concrete surfaces.
