    Wellbore sealing is a key technology for waterproofing, anti-seepage, and displacement prevention when pipelines/wellbores pass through the wellbore. It is divided into two scenarios: municipal/pipeline wellbore sealing and oil and gas/geothermal well cementing sealing.

    1、 Core role

      Waterproof and anti-seepage: block the infiltration of groundwater into the well chamber to prevent the leakage of the medium inside the well

    Displacement compensation: adapted to pipeline thermal expansion and contraction, settlement, and axial displacement

    Structural protection: prevent wellbore cracking, pipeline corrosion, and insulation damage

    Interlayer isolation (oil and gas wells): Separate different formation fluids to prevent cross flow and pollution

    2、 Two major technological systems

    1) Municipal/pipe network wellbore sealing (pipeline crossing wellbore)

    -Structure type

    Sealing joint/waterproof joint: multi-layer composite (rubber+stainless steel ripple+polyurethane), expandable, waterproof, and anti settlement

    Non metallic sealing: EPDM, TPE, modified PVC, corrosion-resistant, lightweight, welding free

    Metal seal: Carbon steel/stainless steel, high temperature resistance (300 ℃+), pressure resistance

    -Core performance

    Work pressure: 0.6-2.5 MPa; Temperature resistance: -40 ℃~+120 ℃

    -Sealing grade: IP68; Impermeability ≥ P8; pull-out resistance ≥ 50kN

    -Installation method

    Pre embedded type: synchronously installed when pouring the wellbore, with accurate positioning and good overall integrity

    Post installation: After the completion of the wellbore, holes are opened for installation, which is flexible and has a short construction period

    2) Oil and gas/geothermal well cementing seal (between casing and wellbore)

    -Cement cementing: The most mainstream method is to fill the annulus with cement slurry, solidify it into a cement ring, support the wellbore, and isolate between layers

    -Mechanical seal: packer, bridge plug, expansion tube, sealed by rubber cylinder expansion/metal slip, used for temporary/permanent sealing

    -Chemical plugging: gel, resin, particle plugging agent, plugging cracks/pores, plugging and water control
