　　3PE anti-corrosion steel pipes were first widely used in Europe and received high praise from users. They are the most commonly used pipeline coating system. In the summer of 1994, China National Petroleum Corporation decided to introduce 3PE coating operation and coating technology for the external anti-corrosion coating of the upcoming Shaanxi Beijing gas pipeline and Kushan oil pipeline. In December of the same year, experts from China Petroleum Infrastructure Construction Bureau, Pipeline Bureau, Sichuan Petroleum Design Institute and Northwest Pipeline Headquarters jointly organized a delegation to visit the 3PE coating operation line in the United States, Italy, Türkiye and other countries. In May 1995, Liaohe Oilfield Construction Company was responsible for bidding for the introduction of * 3PE coating operation lines from Canada's Genlao Company in China. Normal production began in early 1996. The Shuozhou Anti corrosion Plant, a joint venture between Italy's Soksam Company and Harbin Plastics Sixth Factory, was renovated and put into normal production in May 1996. The 3PE coating operation line, jointly imported from the Netherlands by the Northwest Pipeline Command and Hong Kong businessmen, was completed and put into operation at the Yadong Anti corrosion Company in Baoji in 1996. Since then, 3PE anti-corrosion has received attention and application in China. Starting from the construction of the Seninglan pipeline, through bidding and the localization of all 3PE anti-corrosion materials, the prefabrication price of 3PE anti-corrosion has significantly decreased, marking the beginning of an era of widespread application of 3PE anti-corrosion in China. So far, 20000 kilometers of buried steel pipes have been coated with 3PE anti-corrosion coating for external anti-corrosion. At present, there are dozens of 3PE coating operation lines in China, which have the ability to process 3PE coatings on steel pipes with a diameter of 25-2800mm.
