The base materials for 3pe anti-corrosion steel pipes include seamless steel pipes, spiral steel pipes, and straight seam steel pipes. The three-layer polyethylene (3PE) anti-corrosion coating has been widely used in the petroleum pipeline industry due to its excellent corrosion resistance, water vapor permeability resistance, and mechanical properties. The anti-corrosion coating of 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipes is crucial for the service life of buried pipelines. For pipelines of the same material, some may not corrode after being buried underground for decades, while others may leak within a few years. It's because they use different external anti-corrosion coatings.
3PE anti-corrosion generally consists of three layers of structure:
Layered epoxy powder (FBE>100um)
Second layer adhesive (AD) 170~250um
Third layer polyethylene (PE) 1.8-3.7mm
The 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe coating, also known as the three-layer polyethylene anti-corrosion coating, is a new type of anti-corrosion steel pipe coating that cleverly combines the European 2PE anti-corrosion coating with the widely used epoxy powder anti-corrosion steel pipe coating (FBE) in North America. It has been recognized and used worldwide for over ten years.
The coating of 3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe is an epoxy powder anti-corrosion coating in contact with the bottom layer and the steel pipe surface, and a copolymer adhesive with branched functional groups in the middle layer. The surface layer is a high-density polyethylene anti-corrosion coating.
The 3pe anti-corrosion coating combines the high impermeability and mechanical properties of epoxy resin and polyethylene materials.
So far, it is globally recognized as the most effective and high-performance pipeline anti-corrosion coating, and has been applied in many engineering projects.
