      API 5L PSL2 spiral steel pipe has the characteristics of biaxial symmetry, overlapping cross-sectional centroid and shear center. The API 5L PSL2 spiral steel pipe section is closed, with high torsional stiffness and good local stability of the plate, especially for circular pipe sections.       Compared with ordinary open section steel, API 5L PSL2 spiral steel pipes have the characteristics of smooth surface, no dead corners, and small outer surface area for round and square (rectangular) sections, which is conducive to saving anti-corrosion and fireproof coatings and facilitating dust removal.       GB9711 Spiral steel pipe length measurement method:

      1. Use a grating ruler to measure the length of spiral steel pipes according to GB/T9711.2. Two fixed length grating rulers are set on the outer sides of both ends of the steel pipe, and a rodless cylinder is used to drive the grating rulers close to the ends of the steel pipe. The interference phenomenon of light is used to measure the length of the steel pipe, and the measurement dimensions can be obtained.

      2. Use a camera to measure the length of spiral steel pipes according to GB/T9711.2, and use image processing to measure the length of the steel pipes. Install a series of equidistant photoelectric switches on one section of the steel pipe conveyor roller, and add a light source and camera on the other section. When the steel pipe passes through this area, the length of the steel pipe can be determined based on the position of an image captured by a camera through a photoelectric switch on the screen.

      3. The encoder is used to measure the length of the spiral steel pipe in GB/T9711.2. An encoder is installed at the oil cylinder to push the steel pipe to move on the roller conveyor. A series of equidistant photoelectric switches are installed on the other side. When the steel pipe is pushed by the oil cylinder and the pipe end touches the photoelectric switch, the recorded encoder reading is used to convert the stroke of the oil cylinder, which can calculate the length of the steel pipe.
