Description :
The outer wall of TPEP anti-corrosion steel pipe adopts a three-layer structure of hot-melt bonding and winding process, with the bottom layer of epoxy resin, the middle layer of adhesive, and the outer layer of polyethylene forming the anti-corrosion layer. The inner wall adopts a thermal spray epoxy powder anti-corrosion method, which uniformly applies the powder on the surface of the pipe body after high-temperature heating and fusion, greatly improving the adhesion and thickness of the coating. During construction, the pipe body should be placed on a good foundation, and expansion joints should be set every 10 along the pipeline. The anti-seepage structure should be appropriately thickened at the joint with the pipeline. A 12m thick impermeable material should be backfilled outside the pipe to prevent the pipe body from breaking or cracking due to temperature changes and uneven settlement of the foundation, as well as concentrated seepage between the pipe body and the dam body.

The improved performance of TPEP coating is mainly due to its organic combination of bottom epoxy powder, middle adhesive layer, and outer polyethylene layer, which gives the coating the advantages of fusion bonded epoxy powder (FBE) coating and polyethylene coating. Fusion bonded epoxy forms ionic bonds and physical interlocking forces with activated ions on the surface of steel pipes through its active groups, enabling it to firmly adhere to the metal substrate surface. The copolymer adhesive modified with polyethylene not only has the ability to form covalent bonds (ester bonds) with fusion bonded epoxy through chemical reactions, but also disrupts the electronic dipole balance of polyethylene material through grafting modification, enhancing the van der Waals forces between fusion bonded epoxy and copolymer molecules, effectively improving the interfacial bonding strength between the two. And at the same time, it does not change the processability of the intermediate layer adhesive polyethylene. When reaching the molding temperature, the melted intermediate layer adhesive and the outer layer polyethylene will penetrate and entangle with each other under a certain external pressure, crystallize and harden when cooled, and the molecules of the two can co crystallize. Therefore, the two layers can be completely combined into one without a separated interface, allowing the three materials to combine to form a complete anti-corrosion layer.
