      1. The injection temperature is adjusted accordingly based on the molecular weight of the raw materials, the shape and size of the product, and the type of injection molding machine.

      2. The injection speed adopts a multi-stage injection method, using a slow fast slow approach.

      3. The injection pressure depends on the shape and size of the product, with plunger injection molding machines generally ranging from 100-160MPa and screw injection molding machines ranging from 70-140MPa.

      4. The molding cycle depends on the thickness of the product wall and the injection volume. Generally, the filling time is short, the holding time is long, and the cooling time is based on the principle of not causing deformation of the product during demolding.

      5. The mold temperature depends on the shape and thickness of the product. Increasing the mold temperature appropriately is beneficial for demolding and improving product quality.

      6. Post processing of products: It is necessary to perform post-processing to eliminate or reduce internal stress for products with complex shapes, metal inserts, and extremely low or high operating temperatures.

      Method: After placing the product in a drying oven, start heating it up. Raise the room temperature to 100-105 and keep it warm for 10-20 minutes. Continue heating it up to 120-125 and keep it warm for 30-40 minutes. Then slowly cool it down to below 60 and take it out.

      To meet the needs of various injection molding processes, polycarbonate has different specifications with different melt indices. Usually, a melt index ranging from 5 to 25g/10min is suitable for injection molding. However, the processing conditions vary significantly depending on the type of injection molding machine, the shape of the molded product, and the specifications of polycarbonate, and should be adjusted according to the actual situation.

      Key points for selecting injection molding machines

      Locking pressure: 0.47 to 0.78 tons per square centimeter (or 3 to 5 tons per square inch) of the projected area of the finished product.

      Machine size: The weight of the finished product is about 40 to 60% of the capacity of the injection molding machine. If the machine uses polystyrene to represent its capacity (in ounces), it needs to be reduced by 10% before using the capacity of ZHANG DA. 1 ounce equals 28.3 grams.

      Screw: The minimum length of the screw should be 15 diameters long, with an L/D of 20:1. The compression ratio should be between 1.5:1 and 30:1. The stop valve at the front end of the screw should adopt a sliding ring type, and the resin flowable clearance should be at least 3.2mm.

      Nozzle: The tip opening should have a minimum diameter of 4.5mm. If the finished product weighs 5.5KG or more, the nozzle diameter should be 9.5mm or more. In addition, the tip opening should be 0.5 to 1MM less than the gate diameter, and the shorter the section, the better, about 5MM.

      Key points of molding conditions, melting temperature and mold temperature: The setting of molding temperature is related to many factors, such as the size of the injection molding machine, screw configuration, mold and molded product design, and molding cycle time. Generally speaking, in order to gradually melt the plastic, a lower temperature is set in the rear section/feeding area of the material pipe, while a higher temperature is set in the front section of the material pipe. But if the screw design is improper or the L/D value is too small, reverse temperature setting can also be used.
