PC material, as one of the five engineering plastics with usage second only to PA, has three major application areas: glass assembly industry, automotive industry, electronics and electrical industry, followed by industrial machinery parts, CDs, civil equipment, computers and other office equipment, medical and health care, film, leisure and protective equipment, etc.
PC materials have excellent and balanced toughness, strength, heat resistance, dimensional stability, and surface glossiness, making them widely used. PC materials have good acid and oil resistance, but are not resistant to alkali, strong acid, or amine or ketone solvents. They are soluble in chlorinated hydrocarbons and aromatic solvents, and long-term immersion in water can easily cause hydrolysis and cracking.
The transparency of pure PC material is about 88-92, the density is 1.20-1.22 g/cm3, the linear expansion rate is 3.8 × 10-6 cm/cm, and the thermal deformation temperature is 130 ℃ (1.82Mpa). After flame retardant modification, PC material can pass the 960 ℃ hot wire test, and it has good strength, toughness, surface appearance, and coloring ability, making it an ideal material for electronic products and household appliances.
Modifying PC through toughening, strengthening, flame retardancy, and alloying can improve its shortcomings of stress cracking and poor flowability in the later stage, as well as further enhance its flame retardant performance, improve material toughness and strength, greatly expanding the application scope of this material
