　　Polycarbonate still has shortcomings in terms of performance, especially as a base material for optical discs. Its weakness is high birefringence, which leads to inaccurate focusing of polarized lasers for scanning and writing, resulting in changes in their polarization state and introducing noise during the writing and copying process of optical discs.

　　The current research work mainly focuses on the following four aspects: using monomers with a similar structure to bisphenol A and a small difference in polarization between the main chain direction and the branch direction to participate in co polymerization, in order to reduce the photoelastic coefficient of polycarbonate; Using a polymer with negative intrinsic birefringence and sufficient to counteract the intrinsic birefringence of polycarbonate for blending modification;

　　By using multifunctional monomers for co polymerization, polymer molecules are endowed with branched structures to improve their flow state and ultimately enhance the orientation of molecular segments during flow and cooling processes; Using compounds with flexible chain molecular structures to replace some bisphenol A, or introducing alkyl and other structures on the main chain, in order to improve the melt flowability of polycarbonate.
