Thermal performance of polycarbonate PC sheet: PC has high heat resistance and cold resistance, and can be used for a long time at -60-120 ℃. HDT is between 120-140 ℃, so it will not be affected by thermal expansion and contraction like tempered glass and will not self destruct. PC has no obvious melting point of 220-230 degrees, which is much higher than the melting point of general plastics.
The optical properties of polycarbonate PC sheet: PC sheet is colorless and transparent, with high light transmittance, exceeding 87% and reaching up to 90%. However, the radiation resistance of PC is poor, and high doses of radiation can significantly reduce its high-temperature mechanical strength.
The aging resistance and flame retardancy of polycarbonate PC sheet: PC has good weather resistance and is stable to heat, air, and ozone. The basic mechanical properties of the product remain unchanged after one year of outdoor exposure, but prolonged exposure to ultraviolet light can cause yellowing, degradation, and brittleness due to the oxidation reaction of light.
Therefore, light stabilizers, heat stabilizers, etc. are added to improve its performance. PC is flammable and turns pale yellow when exposed to an open flame. It should be extinguished immediately upon leaving the flame.
Therefore, flame retardant substances such as halides, red phosphorus, etc. should be added. It can improve its flame retardancy.
