Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), also known as acrylic or organic glass, Lucite (trade name), is one of the inexpensive high-temperature resistant plastics in Taiwan. However, it is difficult to manufacture and its impact and heat resistance may decrease over time. Mixing polyoxymethylene and polystyrene can improve this drawback. In the 1960s, adjusted polyethylene glycol was introduced under the trade name Noryl. The commonly used material in the market is modified polyphenylene oxide (MPPO), also known as MPPE (Modified Polyphenylene Ether).
