      1、 Injection molding process characteristics/conditions:

      ① PSU is an amorphous polymer with no obvious melting point, a Tg of 190 ℃, and a molding temperature above 280 ℃. The product is transparent.

      ② The molding characteristics of PSU are similar to those of PC. The flow characteristics of the melt are close to Newtonian fluids, and the viscosity of polymer melt is more sensitive to temperature. When the melt temperature exceeds 330 ℃, the viscosity of the melt can decrease by 50% for every 30 ℃ increase.

      ③ Although the melt viscosity of PSU is temperature sensitive, its viscosity is still high and its flowability is poor during the molding process; In addition, the cooling rate of the melt is fast, and the molecular chains are rigid, so the internal stress generated during molding is difficult to eliminate.

      ④ Obviously, there are no hydrophilic groups in the molecular structure of PSU, and its water absorption is relatively low, with an equilibrium water absorption of 0.6%. However, during the molding process, the presence of trace amounts of water can cause degradation of the melt due to high temperature and strong mechanical forces. Therefore, drying must be carried out before injection molding.

      ⑤ Excessive injection rate can cause PSU melt to rupture, limiting the filling rate and making filling difficult.
