Polyarylsulfone and polyethersulfone have better heat resistance and maintain excellent mechanical properties at high temperatures.
1. Amorphous materials have high moisture absorption, with a water absorption rate of 0.2% -0.4%. They must be thoroughly dried before use and prevented from absorbing moisture again. Ensure that the moisture content is below 0.1%.
2. The molding performance is similar to PC, but the thermal stability is poor, and decomposition begins at 370 degrees.
3. Poor fluidity, fast cooling, suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure molding. The mold should have sufficient strength and rigidity, a cold material well should be set up, the flow channel should be short, and the gate size should be taken as 1/2-1/3 of the plastic part wall thickness
To reduce the internal stress generated by injection molded products, the mold temperature should be controlled at 140-170 degrees. After forming, annealing treatment can be carried out in a glycerol bath at 160 degrees Celsius for 1-5 minutes; Or take an air bath at 160 degrees Celsius for 1-4 hours. The annealing time depends on the size and wall thickness of the product.
5. Polysulfone is close to Newtonian in its molten state, similar to polycarbonate, and its flowability is sensitive to temperature. Within the range of 310 ℃ -420 ℃, the flowability doubles for every 30 ℃ increase in temperature. Therefore, during molding, the processing flowability is mainly improved by increasing the temperature.
