　　1、 Product Introduction

　　PEEK processing

　　Traditional thermoplastic processing equipment can be used to process polyetheretherketone. Unfilled and filled grades are usually supplied in the form of granules, powders, or ultrafine powders. It is usually recommended to use processing methods such as injection molding, extrusion, monofilament, and wire wrapping for granular materials. Powder is suitable for compression molding, while ultrafine powder is usually used for coating, composite prepreg, and compression molding.

　　The general process of PEEK injection molding is as follows:

　　1. Drying: Granular polymers generally absorb 0.5% w/w of atmospheric moisture. To achieve the desired effect, drying should be carried out until the moisture content is less than 0.02% w/w. The material can be placed in an air circulation furnace and dried at 150 ℃ for at least 3 hours, or at 160 ℃ for 2 hours. If dried in a drying oven, the thickness of the raw materials in the tray should not exceed 25mm and contamination should be prevented.

　　2. Recycling: Surplus materials can be recycled and injected into pure materials. It is recommended that recycled materials without fillers should not exceed 30% of the total weight, and recycled mixtures with fillers should not exceed 10% of the total weight.

　　3. Thermal stability: If the equipment is shut down during the melting process and the polymer residence time does not exceed 1 hour, there will be no significant degradation of the material at a temperature of 360 ℃. But if the downtime exceeds 1 hour, the temperature of the material barrel should be lowered to 340 ℃. At this temperature, the material can remain stable for several hours. When continuing processing, the temperature of the material barrel should be increased. If the downtime exceeds 3 hours, the material barrel should be cleaned. Some materials that can maintain stable performance at 380 ℃, such as polyethersulfone or polyetherimide, can be used, and low MFI polyethylene can also be used for cleaning.

　　4. Injection machine: The melting point of the polymer is 343 ℃, which is suitable for traditional machines that can maintain the melt temperature between 360-400 ℃.
