1、 Product Introduction
PPS polyphenylene sulfide is a new type of high-performance crystalline thermoplastic resin. Has excellent flame retardancy and chemical resistance. Melting point of 280 degrees.
Although other melting processes can also be used, the vast majority of PPA resins are processed using traditional injection molding methods. Pre dry the PPA raw materials to a humidity level below 0.1%, and then pack them into heat sealed metal bags or boxes. These containers ensure that the PPA raw materials do not need to be dried again before processing. The acceptable humidity level for processing technology is 0.15% or lower. Processing wet resins can reduce their molecular weight, resulting in corresponding mechanical property losses. Using a desiccant bucket dryer, it is easy to dry the resin to a dew point humidity of 25 ° F or even lower at 175 ° F. The drying time depends on the amount of water absorbed and is generally within the range of 4-16 hours.
The melting temperature during injection molding is within the range of 615-650 ° F, and the material stays in the barrel for no more than 10 minutes to ensure the mechanical properties of the injected product. Require a mold temperature of at least 275 ° F to obtain a fully crystallized and dimensionally stable product. Components with partially thick walls can be injection molded at lower mold temperatures due to slow cooling rates. Mold temperature is crucial for the surface appearance of finished components. The surface temperature requirement for the mold of mineral filler grade PPA resin used for vacuum metal plating to electroplating metal is 350 ° F.
Due to the outstanding physical, thermal, and electrical properties of PPA resin, especially its moderate cost, it has a wide range of applications. These properties, along with excellent chemical resistance, make PPA a candidate for many applications in the automotive industry. The trend towards better aerodynamic body design, combined with higher performance motors, will increase the temperature of the engine compartment, making traditional thermoplastic materials less suitable.
