Weather resistance:
PEI has excellent weather resistance and can withstand UV exposure without adding any stabilizers. After 1000 hours of exposure in a xenon lamp weathering test chamber, the tensile strength changes very little. The radiation resistance under beta radiation is also superior to PSF, PES, etc.
Radiation resistance:
PEI also showed good resistance to gamma radiation, with only a 6% loss in tensile strength after cumulative exposure to 5000 megarads of cobalt 60 at a rate of 1 megarads per hour. In addition, PEI is transparent to visible light, infrared, and microwave, and does not absorb them.
Molding processability:
