Description :
The cylinder liner piston assembly is the core vulnerable component of the hydraulic end of the drilling mud pump, mainly responsible for converting mechanical energy into fluid pressure energy. This component directly determines the volumetric efficiency and discharge pressure stability of the mud pump, and is suitable for high load conditions such as oil drilling, shale gas extraction, and non excavation horizontal directional drilling. For high-temperature and high-pressure environments, special composite material designs are adopted to effectively solve the problems of early wear, thermal aging, and sealing failure of traditional metal or ordinary rubber parts during long-term continuous operations, ensuring the continuity and safety of drilling operations.
The cylinder liner piston assembly is usually composed of high-strength alloy steel cylinder liners and composite material pistons. The piston body is made of wear-resistant polyurethane material, which has excellent tear resistance and resilience; The sealing part is embedded with nitrile rubber rubber, utilizing its oil resistance and medium corrosion resistance characteristics to ensure good sealing in both oil-based and water-based mud. The execution standard refers to the API 7K specification, and the inner surface of the cylinder liner has undergone precision honing treatment, with roughness controlled within Ra0.4. The piston outer diameter tolerance is strictly matched to ensure reasonable fit clearance, reduce erosion wear, and extend the overall service life.
When selecting, it is important to check the mud pump model (such as F series, 3NB series, etc.) and cylinder liner diameter specifications. The installation dimensions of different brands of pump bodies may vary and cannot be used interchangeably. If the operating temperature exceeds 120 ℃ or contains highly corrosive chemical additives, it is necessary to confirm whether the specific grade of nitrile rubber meets the requirements of temperature and corrosion resistance. For formations with high sand content, it is recommended to prioritize piston designs with high polyurethane hardness and self-lubricating structure to avoid hard friction with ordinary cast iron cylinder liners. At the same time, attention should be paid to distinguishing the structural differences between single acting and double acting pumps.
Before installation, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the hydraulic end chamber, check the straightness of the pull rod and the wear of the intermediate connecting rod, ensure the coaxiality of the piston and cylinder liner, and prevent rapid failure caused by eccentric wear. During daily maintenance, it is necessary to regularly monitor the changes in the displacement and leakage of the mud pump. If there is a significant decrease in displacement or leakage at the seal, it should be replaced in a timely manner. It is recommended to establish a spare parts replacement cycle record, and carry out preventive replacement based on cumulative flushing times rather than just time, to avoid drilling stoppage due to sudden failures. When storing, avoid direct sunlight and ozone environment to prevent natural aging and deformation of rubber parts.
