    Description :

The piston assembly is the core vulnerable sealing component of the hydraulic end of the oil drilling three cylinder mud pump, mainly responsible for converting the reciprocating motion transmitted from the power end into high-pressure fluid kinetic energy. In drilling operations, mud pumps need to withstand harsh working conditions such as high pressure, high erosion, and corrosive media for a long time. The sealing performance of the piston assembly directly determines the pump efficiency and operational stability. This product is designed to solve the problems of poor wear resistance and short service life of traditional rubber pistons. By optimizing the sealing structure, it effectively prevents high-pressure mud leakage and ensures the continuous and efficient operation of the drilling fluid circulation system. It is suitable for various land and marine oil drilling platforms.

The main body of the piston assembly is made of high wear-resistant polyurethane material, which has significantly improved wear resistance and higher tear strength compared to ordinary nitrile rubber. The typical hardness range is controlled between Shore A 90-95 degrees, ensuring sufficient rigidity to resist high-pressure deformation while retaining necessary elasticity to achieve a tight fit with the cylinder liner. The product strictly complies with API 7K and other relevant standards for petroleum drilling and production equipment, and undergoes strict dimensional tolerance control and surface smoothness treatment. Each set of piston assembly includes components such as piston core, polyurethane cup, pressure plate, and fastening bolts. All metal parts have undergone anti-corrosion treatment to adapt to outdoor humid and sulfur-containing environments, ensuring structural integrity during long-term immersion and high-frequency reciprocating motion.

When selecting, it is necessary to strictly check the model, cylinder liner diameter, and piston rod connection thread specifications of the mud pump. Different brands and models of three cylinder pumps (such as F series, 3NB series, etc.) have different installation dimensions and cannot be used interchangeably. If the working conditions contain a large amount of hard particles or high viscosity mud, it is recommended to prioritize the use of thickened polyurethane materials to extend the replacement cycle; If working in extremely cold areas, it is necessary to confirm the low-temperature brittleness index of the material. Compared with ordinary rubber pistons, polyurethane piston assemblies perform better in high-temperature environments, but require appropriate preheating during extreme low-temperature start-up to avoid initial seal failure or abnormal wear caused by material hardening.

Before installing the piston assembly, the inner wall of the cylinder liner and piston rod must be thoroughly cleaned, and the cylinder liner must be checked for scratches or excessive ovality, otherwise the service life of the new piston will be sharply shortened. During installation, special tools should be used to evenly tighten the pressure plate bolts to avoid one-sided wear caused by deviation. In daily maintenance, it is necessary to regularly check and flush the cooling system to ensure that there is sufficient lubrication and coolant in the piston and cylinder sleeve to prevent dry grinding from causing high temperature and burning of the sealing surface. When significant fluctuations in pump pressure, a decrease in displacement, or an increase in leakage are detected, the pump should be shut down promptly to check for piston wear. It is usually recommended to replace the pump in pairs or as a whole to maintain pressure balance and smooth operation of the three cylinder pump.
