    Description :

The Ren Dun 2-in-1 lightning arrester is a composite surge protection device designed for monitoring systems, mainly to solve the problem of lightning induced overvoltage damage to power lines and signal lines (such as video coaxial cables, network twisted pair cables, or control lines) at the same time for front-end devices such as cameras. It integrates the power lightning protection module and the signal lightning protection module into the same shell to achieve synchronous protection for two different lines, effectively reducing the equipment damage rate caused by lightning strikes. It is suitable for typical working conditions such as outdoor monitoring cameras, ball cameras, gimbals, etc. that require simultaneous power supply and data transmission, and is an indispensable basic protective component in security engineering.

This 2-in-1 lightning arrester usually adopts a standard rail type or screw fixed installation structure, and the shell is mostly made of flame-retardant ABS or metal material, with good heat dissipation and anti-interference ability. Its core parameters include maximum continuous operating voltage, nominal discharge current, maximum discharge current, voltage protection level, and response time. The power supply part generally complies with the GB/T 18802.21 standard, while the signal part follows the corresponding communication line surge protector standards based on the interface type (such as BNC, RJ45, RS485). The product adopts a combination of high-quality gas discharge tubes, varistors, and TVS diodes internally to ensure rapid clamping of overvoltage within nanoseconds, control residual voltage within the safe range that the backend equipment can withstand, and achieve energy coordination through multi-stage decoupling design.

When selecting the Rennes Shield 2-in-1 lightning arrester, it is necessary to clarify the power supply voltage (such as AC24V, DC12V or POE power supply) and signal transmission type (analog video, digital network or control signal) of the front-end camera. If it is an analog camera, a combination of video and power should be selected; If it is a network camera, a network+power supply or POE dedicated lightning arrester should be selected. Attention should be paid to distinguishing the differences between unidirectional and bidirectional signal interfaces to avoid signal attenuation or interruption caused by reverse connection. For long-distance transmission or high thunderstorm areas, it is recommended to check whether their current capacity meets the local lightning protection level requirements. Do not misuse single-phase lightning arresters that only have power protection functions for signal protection scenarios, so as not to leave protection blind spots.

When installing a two in one lightning arrester, the principle of "nearby protection" should be followed, and it should be installed as close as possible to the protected equipment end, and ensure that the grounding terminal is reliably connected to the ground grid through a short and thick wire. The grounding resistance is usually required to be less than 4 ohms or 10 ohms. In daily maintenance, it is necessary to regularly check the status indicator window of the lightning protection module. If it displays a red or fault sign, it indicates that the module has deteriorated or failed and needs to be replaced in a timely manner. Before and after the thunderstorm season, it is recommended to conduct a continuity test on the grounding line to prevent the lightning arrester from being unable to discharge lightning current due to corrosion or disconnection of the grounding wire. Common faults often manifest as signal image interference or equipment restart without reason. In this case, priority should be given to investigating the grounding condition and module status of the lightning arrester.
