    Description :

Carbon steel flange is an important mechanical component used for connecting pipelines, valves, pumps and other equipment, mainly solving the sealing and fixing problems of medium transmission in pipeline systems. It tightly connects two flanges with bolts and adds a gasket in the middle to achieve sealing. Typical working conditions include normal or medium high temperature pipeline systems in industries such as petroleum, chemical, power, and shipbuilding. This category is widely used in pipeline nodes that require frequent disassembly and maintenance or withstand certain pressure and vibration, ensuring fluid leakage and structural stability.

Common specifications include various nominal diameters from DN15 to DN2000, and pressure levels include PN0.6, PN1.0, PN1.6, PN2.5, PN4.0, etc. The material is usually carbon steel such as Q235B, 20 # steel, or A105, and complies with standards such as GB/T9112, HG/T2059, or ASME B16.5. The manufacturing process is mostly forging or casting, and the surface needs to be treated with rust prevention such as painting or galvanizing. The flange sealing surface forms include flat (FF), convex (RF), concave convex (MFM), etc. The dimensional tolerance and bolt hole distribution strictly comply with national standards to ensure interchangeability and installation accuracy.

When selecting, it is necessary to clarify the properties of the medium, working pressure, temperature range, and pipeline material. Carbon steel flanges are suitable for non corrosive media. If the medium has strong acidity or high temperature and high pressure characteristics, stainless steel or alloy steel flanges should be considered. Compared with butt welding flanges, flat welding flanges have lower costs but slightly weaker pressure bearing capacity; Neck welded flanges have high strength but are relatively expensive. The purchaser needs to confirm whether the connection standard is national standard, American standard or German standard to avoid mismatched bolt hole positions. At the same time, pay attention to whether the flange thickness and neck size meet the requirements of pipeline wall thickness to prevent stress concentration from causing fracture.

Before installation, it is necessary to check whether the flange sealing surface is flat and free of scratches, and clean the impurities at the pipeline port. The bolts should be tightened diagonally and evenly to avoid sealing failure caused by unilateral force. During daily maintenance, it is necessary to regularly check the loosening of bolts and the corrosion of sealing surfaces, especially under conditions of high vibration. Common faults include sealing surface leakage, bolt breakage, or flange deformation, often caused by improper installation or overpressure use. When it is not in use for a long time, anti-corrosion protection should be taken, and a pressure test should be conducted before restarting to ensure that there is no leakage at the connection and to ensure the safe operation of the pipeline system.
