With the vigorous development of national economic construction, there is an increasing number of engineering surveys and deformation monitoring in areas such as land and resources investigation, surveying and demarcation, reservoir dams, highways and bridges, equipment installation, civil buildings, industrial buildings, high-rise buildings, earthquake monitoring, landslides, etc., which serve as important indicators for basic and qualitative preservation of surveying and mapping engineering and deformation monitoring. It includes various levels of triangulation points, baseline points, traverse points, control points, gravity points, astronomical points, leveling points, wooden and steel targets and stone markers built on the ground, underground or buildings, global control points, as well as fixed surveying markers used for topographic mapping, engineering surveying, zoning boundary surveying, cadastral surveying and deformation surveying; Temporary measurement markers being used in the measurement.
The most commonly used method for settlement observation and measurement is turning points. In traditional leveling field work, elevation transmission is carried out through a ruler pad. However, traditional measuring pads are somewhat clumsy in observing building settlement. Due to the fact that most construction site roads at present are hardened concrete pavements, the stability of measuring pads is poor and they are easily touched by personnel and vehicles, which can no longer meet the observation requirements. Based on years of work experience, it has been found that in practical work, using measuring nails (as shown in the figure below) to nail concrete pavements or stable structures instead of measuring pads can make the turning point more stable, increase data accuracy, and better avoid the influence of other factors.






Ordinary L-shaped embedded parts
For general settlement observation, L-shaped embedded parts are sufficient, but they may be easily affected by construction and damaged by falling objects during construction. L-shaped embedded parts are mainly of different lengths. Those with longer lengths are suitable for thicker insulation layers, while those with shorter lengths are generally sufficient. However, sometimes they cannot meet the requirements of structural marble buildings, and many times they are rejected by owners due to aesthetic issues. So we need other more suitable embedded parts.

Innovation of pre embedded parts for settlement observation
The importance of stable observation points has been explained in the previous text. Traditional "L" shaped observation points are often damaged or stained by falling building materials from above. The new observation point adopts the method of separating embedded parts and observation points (see the figure below), consisting of embedded sleeves, bolts, and plugs. The interior of the embedded sleeve is set as a hollow cylinder, and the inner wall is set with threading. Pre embedded parts are installed in the walls and columns of buildings at settlement observation points; The ends of the bolts and plugs are equipped with threaded sleeves that are compatible with the embedded sleeves. When laying out the points, embed the embedded parts into the concrete, tighten the external parts during observation, and remove them after observation. This can reduce the occurrence of observation errors to a certain extent.
