The horizontal settling spiral discharge centrifuge consists of a high-speed drum, a screw and differential that rotate in the same direction as the drum and have a slightly higher or lower speed than the drum. It is pushed to the slag discharge port at the small end of the drum through the blades on the screw pusher, and the liquid phase overflows through the overflow hole at the large end of the drum. Continuously cycling in this way to achieve the goal of continuous separation.

The horizontal settling spiral discharge centrifuge is mainly composed of a high-speed drum, a screw and differential that rotate in the same direction as the drum and have a slightly higher or lower speed than the drum. When the suspension to be separated enters the centrifuge drum, the high-speed rotating drum generates strong centrifugal force to settle solid particles with higher density than the liquid phase onto the inner wall of the drum. Due to the different rotational speeds of the spiral and the drum, there is a relative motion (i.e. speed difference) between the two. The relative motion between the spiral and the drum is used to push the solid phase deposited on the inner wall of the drum towards the outlet at the small end of the drum, and the separated clear liquid is discharged from the other end of the centrifuge. The function of the differential (gearbox) is to create a certain speed difference between the drum and the screw.
Centrifugal settling is the process of adding a mixture of solids and liquids into a cylindrical (or conical) rotor. Due to the centrifugal force, the solids settle in the liquid, and the settled material is further compressed by the centrifugal force, squeezing out the moisture to achieve the separation of solids and liquids.
