    Description :

      GJC4 coal mine methane sensor is a gas detection instrument designed specifically for harsh environments underground in coal mines, mainly used for continuous monitoring of methane concentration in areas such as tunnels and mining workfaces. This device converts the methane content in the air into electrical signals through high-precision catalytic combustion or electrochemical principles (depending on the specific configuration), and transmits them in real time to the monitoring host, effectively preventing gas explosion accidents and ensuring the safety of miners' lives and mine production. It is an indispensable front-end sensing component of the coal mine safety monitoring system.


      The GJC4 methane sensor complies with industry standards such as MT381-2014 "Methane Sensors for Coal Mines" and has the ExdI Mb mining explosion-proof mark. Its measurement range usually covers 0-4.0% CH4 or 0-100% LEL, with a basic error controlled within ± 0.1% CH4. The shell is made of high-strength engineering plastic or stainless steel material, with a protection level of IP65 or above, suitable for high humidity and high dust environments. The response time is less than 20 seconds, and the signal output supports frequency, current, or digital signals. It is compatible with mainstream coal mine safety monitoring systems to ensure the stability and accuracy of data transmission.


      When selecting, it is necessary to clarify the gas emission rate and expected concentration range of the monitoring location. GJC4 is suitable for low concentration methane monitoring scenarios, such as return airways, inlet airways, and general work surfaces. If it is necessary to monitor high concentration gas drainage pipelines, infrared or thermal conductivity sensors with a larger range should be selected. Compared with portable detectors, GJC4, as a fixed sensor, has the advantage of 24-hour uninterrupted online monitoring and linkage control function. It can achieve wind power and gas power interlocking with local ventilation fans, with a higher degree of automation and suitable for long-term fixed-point deployment.


      When installing GJC4 methane sensors, they should be suspended vertically above the roadway, with a distance of no more than 300mm from the roof and no less than 200mm from the side walls, avoiding water spray and direct air vents. In daily maintenance, it is necessary to use standard gas samples for calibration every 7-10 days to ensure accurate zero and sensitivity. Regularly clean the dust cover of the air intake to prevent coal dust from blocking and affecting breathability. If large numerical drift or slow response is found, the sensing element should be replaced in a timely manner. It is recommended to establish a ledger to record calibration dates and fault handling situations, extend equipment lifespan, and ensure continuous compliant operation.
