      Summary: Petroleum coke is the main by-product of the petroleum refining industry, generally produced by delayed coking process. Meanwhile, due to the varying sulfur content in petroleum coke, it is classified into high sulfur (>4%), medium sulfur (2-4%), and low sulfur coke (<2%). But with the deterioration and acidification of international crude oil, the quality of petroleum coke, a by-product of petroleum refining, is gradually decreasing, especially the sulfur content in petroleum coke is constantly increasing. Excessive sulfur content in petroleum coke can greatly affect the quality of the product. At the same time, as the sulfur content in petroleum coke increases, lower level industrial enterprises that use petroleum coke as raw material are also facing increasingly difficult environmental pressures to control sulfur emissions.

      Basic principle of petroleum coke centrifugal dehydration equipment (horizontal screw centrifuge):

      After the drum of the horizontal spiral centrifuge and the screw conveyor are started to full speed, a strong centrifugal force field is generated due to rotation. The suspended liquid material is added to the screw through the feed pipe, and the material enters the drum through the discharge hole in the screw cylinder. Under the action of the centrifugal force field, the solid phase material with a large proportion settles on the drum wall, forming a ring-shaped solid phase layer. The screw conveyor, under the action of the differential (differential is a device that ensures stable differential speed, and shares the dual frequency control device of the busbar, realizes stepless adjustment of drum speed and differential speed, can adapt to changes in flow rate and concentration, and ensure good and stable separation effect), generates a constant differential speed between the screw and the drum, which separates the dehydrated solid phase sediment from the cone. The small end slag outlet of the drum is pushed out, And the clear liquid with light specific gravity overflows from the overflow port at the cylindrical end, working continuously to achieve the goal of continuous separation.

The suspension added to the drum forms a ring-shaped liquid layer under the action of centrifugal force, and the solid particles in it settle onto the drum wall, forming sediment. The clarified liquid is discharged through the overflow port of the drum or the suction pipe, and is called the separation liquid. For difficult to separate suspensions with small density difference between solid and liquid phases, small solid particles, or high liquid viscosity, a sedimentation centrifuge with high separation factor should be selected to prolong the residence time of the suspension in the drum (such as reducing the feed amount or using a long drum), in order to ensure the clarity of the separated liquid.

      The centrifugal dewatering equipment for petroleum coke (horizontal screw centrifuge) has a wide range of applications, especially suitable for separating suspensions in centrifugal filtration where solid particles are prone to clogging the filter medium and the filtration resistance is too high, or when there is too much leakage of fine particles. However, the moisture content of the sediment is relatively high.
