There are rigid and flexible shafts for settling centrifuges. Generally, centrifuges with low operating speed, large rotor diameter, and good liquid flowability are designed with rigid shafts. The original research machine was designed as a rigid shaft, with a large drum shaft diameter (Φ 125mm) and a critical speed greater than the working speed. The distance between the drum shaft and the supporting bearing was large (800mm), and large-sized bearings were installed. The height of the entire rotating shaft system was also reduced accordingly. Due to the absence of vibration problems at critical speeds, its vibration reduction structure was simplified, and the spherical support commonly required for flexible shafts was eliminated. Its advantage is that the working speed is lower than its first-order critical speed, and there is no vibration problem when the critical speed is exceeded. It can operate within a wide speed range. The structure of the rigid shaft itself can be equipped with large-sized bearings, which have a better stress state and can improve the service life of the entire machine. Its disadvantage is that it is difficult to achieve full remote operation for disassembly, assembly, and maintenance.
Drum structure and feeding method
According to research data on centrifuges developed abroad in recent years, there are two types of drum structures: positive cup and inverted cup, with corresponding feeding methods of upper and lower feeding. Both scientific research machines and engineering machines in our country use inverted cup drum and feeding method, which has the advantages of shortening the length of the main shaft, simplifying the upper structure, and making slag discharge smooth, with less pollution to the upper part during operation. The process pipelines are centrally arranged below the drum, which is conducive to the lifting, maintenance, and solution of the alpha seal of the drum.
Discharge and slag discharge methods
The construction machine is equipped with a clear liquid chamber, a cone tube, and a slag port switching device. The clear liquid chamber is a circular groove formed by connecting a conical bottom and a cylinder, and has a clear liquid outlet pipe inside. The high-speed water flows in a spiral shape and splashes onto the outer shell, entering the clear liquid chamber. The conical bottom is located at the lower part of the cylinder, and there are fixed feeding pipe nozzles, high-pressure water nozzles, and slag discharge ports (reflux ports) on the conical cylinder. The slag port switching device is located at the lower part of the conical bottom, which consists of a nuclear grade valve electric device, a ground penetrating shaft, a switching tank, a conical cylinder, etc. The bottom of the switching tank is equipped with a reflux pipe (reflux inlet liquid tank), a slag discharge pipe (inlet slag tank), and a baffle. When high-speed settling and separation occur, the cone is aligned with the reflux pipe so that during the feeding process, due to the gap between the feeding pipe and the dispersing tray, the reflux liquid along the outer wall of the feeding pipe and the friction between the liquid and gas, the collision between the feeding and dispersing plates forms droplets that are collected by the cone and enter the liquid tank through the reflux port. It is understood that due to the lack of this device in the research machine, the amount of raw liquid collected from the slag port during separation operation is 1 ‰ of the feed amount, which is related to the formation of droplets. When discharging slag, align the cone tube with the slag discharge port, with 4 90 degree cones? The water flow from the fan-shaped nozzle will cover the inner wall of the drum, achieving slag flushing under slow rotation. The slag water enters the slag water tank through the cone tube.
