Description :
Galvanized sheet is a steel product that is coated with a layer of metallic zinc on the surface of cold-rolled steel plates, mainly to solve the corrosion problem of steel materials in humid, acidic or industrial atmospheric environments. By sacrificing the anode protection principle, the zinc layer can effectively isolate air and moisture from contact with the substrate iron, thereby significantly extending its service life. This product is widely used in fields such as building structures, household appliance casings, automobile manufacturing, and ventilation ducts. It is suitable for typical working conditions that require good corrosion resistance and certain surface quality requirements, and is the preferred material to replace ordinary black iron sheets.
The specification parameters of galvanized sheet include key indicators such as thickness, width, length, and zinc layer weight. The common thickness range is 0.12mm to 4.0mm, and the standard width is mostly 1000mm or 1219mm. It can be divided into strips or cut according to the needs. The zinc layer has strong adhesion and usually meets the national standard GB/T 2518 for continuous hot-dip galvanized steel sheets and strips. The weight of the zinc layer is generally between 60g/m ² and 275g/m ², and is divided into surface treatment types such as normal zinc flower, small zinc flower, and no zinc flower. The material and substrate are mostly made of Q195, Q235 or DX51D grades to ensure a balance between molding performance and mechanical strength. Some high-end products also involve fingerprint resistant coating treatment.
When selecting, it is necessary to clarify the usage scenario and environmental corrosion level. For general indoor dry environments, ordinary galvanized sheets with thinner zinc layers can be used to reduce costs; In outdoor exposure, high humidity, or coastal salt spray areas, it is recommended to choose products with higher zinc layer weight or passivation treatment. If deep stamping is required in the future, DX51D or DX52D materials with better ductility should be preferred to avoid zinc layer peeling or cracking at the bending point of ordinary hard galvanized sheets. Compared with ordinary cold-rolled sheets, galvanized sheets can prevent rust without additional painting, but their welding performance is slightly inferior and the welding process parameters need to be adjusted.
During installation and maintenance, attention should be paid to avoiding severe mechanical damage to the galvanized layer. It is recommended to apply zinc rich paint to repair the cut surface to prevent the spread of rust. When storing, it should be kept ventilated and dry, avoiding long-term stacking on damp and waterlogged surfaces to prevent the occurrence of white rust. In daily use, regularly cleaning the surface dust and corrosive pollutants can maintain its luster and protective performance. If local zinc layer damage is found, anti-corrosion measures should be taken in a timely manner. Galvanized sheet has a long service life under normal usage conditions, and reasonable maintenance can further reduce the total lifecycle cost and reduce the frequency of replacement.
